Exhibitions
The FOTOGALERIE WIEN currently exhibits seven shows a year including: one Werkschau, one Solo, three exhibitions dedicated to an annual theme of focus, and two other exhibitions curated independent of the theme of focus and Werkschau
Theme of Focus: exhibitions dedicated to a specific topic in photography, takes place throughout the year, includes one catalogue compiling the artists’ contributions and summarizing the exhibitions at the end of the year
Solo: This series of exhibitions is to serve as a platform and springboard to artists who are at the beginning of their career, once a year
Werkschau: a retrospective for a well-known Austrian photography artist,once a year, accompanied by a catalogue
Exchange exhibition (dedicated to the annual with galleries abroad)

Our society has long since entered a post-narrative world. In place of the grand, identity-forming narratives of modernity, we are exposed to a ceaseless “tsunami of information” (Byung-Chul Han). The manic accumulation of data and the incessant noise of communication have taken the place of narrative as a constitutive force of community. NARRATIVE II: Present Forms brings together artistic works that take up these phenomena of our digital reality, critically examine them, but also turn them on their head.
